London - Calling!

TATE BRITAIN
Linder
(1954-)
She/She 1981/2007

"London Calling" were the first words heard on the crackling crystal sets across the nation when, on 14th of November 1922, the 2LO transmitter of what would become the BBC first went on air. Radio was the height of modernity and the phrase caught on immediately, so much that Noel Coward launched a new show called London calling! since then the phrase has had a deep emotional association with the capital."
        -Barry Miles "London Calling"

If you are like me you associate it quicker with The Clash's fab song with the same title.

Now finally! I am doing a small "London Calling" myself. Moving is always much more draining and time consuming than one anticipate. But London I am here to explore and I can't wait to see what you have to offer!!!

I am beginning with the British "Punk" Artist Linder and her collage work series "She/She" that is currently in the Tate Britain "Art for Whom?" show:

LIFE IS TOO SHORT
